About Nina Regina
I’m Nina Regina, a licensed local guide in Ljubljana and the founder of Authentic Ljubljana. With nearly 20 years of professional guiding experience, I specialise in interpreting the social history, culture and historical layers of Slovenia’s capital, from Roman Emona and medieval Ljubljana to the Yugoslav period and the modern city.
I hold a degree in Spanish Language and Literature and a Master’s degree in Sociology of Culture, which allows me to approach the history of Ljubljana not only through monuments and architecture, but also through the social and cultural forces that shaped the city. My work focuses particularly on the everyday life, memory and cultural identity of Ljubljana across different historical periods.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, I guide visitors from around the world through Ljubljana’s streets, sharing the stories, hidden details and historical contexts that often remain unnoticed. My tours aim to create a deeper understanding of the city, combining historical knowledge with storytelling to bring Ljubljana’s past to life in an engaging and personal way.
Over the years I have guided individual travellers, families, private groups and larger groups of up to 50 people, always focusing on creating meaningful and memorable experiences. Whether walking through the medieval old town, discovering traces of Roman Emona or exploring the legacy of architect Jože Plečnik, my goal is to help visitors truly understand the spirit of Ljubljana.
In addition to guiding, I write about the history and cultural heritage of the city through Authentic Ljubljana, where I share articles and insights dedicated to Ljubljana’s past and its many historical layers.
In my free time I enjoy reading mystery novels, poetry and books on public speaking, a subject I also lecture on. I am a member of the Association of Slovenian Regional Tourist Guides (ARGOS) and proudly represent Slovenia within the Federation of European Tourist Guide Associations (FEG).
Whether you are travelling with family, friends or a group, my aim is to help you discover Ljubljana not only as a destination, but as a place full of stories, history and cultural depth.
Explore Ljubljana's rich history, architecture, and hidden gems with Primož, a certified guide passionate about sports and the legacy of Yugoslavia.
I’m Primož, and for me, nothing beats the perfect mix of sports and history! As a certified national guide in Slovenia with a degree in economics and over 15 sports certifications, I specialize in bringing energy, engaging stories, and fascinating insights to every tour. Whether you’re discovering Ljubljana’s hidden gems, exploring the city’s rich history, or embarking on a thrilling adventure, I ensure your experience is both exciting and educational.
With years of experience as a CFO and the owner of a local travel agency specializing in Ljubljana walking tours, I’m deeply involved in tourism marketing and promotion. I can guide individuals, small groups, and larger groups of up to 50 people in Ljubljana and surrounding areas. I speak English, Croatian, Serbian, and Slovenian fluently, so visitors from around the world can enjoy a seamless experience.
My expertise goes beyond just guiding – I’m passionate about Slovenia’s history, architecture, and everything related to the legacy of Yugoslavia, Tito, music, and sports achievements from that period. As a local guide, I bring a personal touch to every tour, ensuring visitors connect with the history of Ljubljana in a meaningful way.
In addition to my guiding services, I’ve organized and led summer and winter sports camps for kids for 20 years, combining my love for sports with educational experiences. As a proud supporter of the Olimpija football club, you can often find me cheering at the Stožice stadium. When I’m not guiding tours, I’m reading a good book, watching winter sports like ski competitions and ski jumps, or enjoying tennis and golf. If you don’t find me on the streets of Ljubljana, look out for me on the Ljubljanica River in my yellow kayak!
Together we combine cultural storytelling with insights into Ljubljana’s history and everyday life.
